junior golf at blue heron pines

Build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the game at the New Jersey Academy of Golf — headquartered at Blue Heron Pines in Atlantic County.

Blue Heron Pines is proud to host the New Jersey Academy of Golf (NJAG), one of South Jersey’s premier junior golf programs. Led by acclaimed instructor Bruce Chelucci — recognized on Golf Digest’s list of Best Teachers In State since 2015 — the Academy welcomes junior golfers ages 8-18 into a fun, welcoming environment where players of every skill level learn the game the right way.

From first-timers picking up a club for the first time to experienced junior players preparing for high school or tournament play, NJAG’s instructors cover the full range — swing mechanics, course etiquette, the rules and history of the game, and the life lessons golf teaches along the way. Pair it with our Galloway, NJ championship course, and young players get a complete foundation they’ll carry with them for years.

Junior summer camps

Our signature junior offering runs every week, Monday through Thursday, throughout July and August. Each camp session is structured to meet juniors where they are — beginners learn the fundamentals in a no-pressure environment, while more experienced players sharpen their short game, course management, and competitive skills. Campers are immersed in every side of golf: full swing, putting, chipping, etiquette, and on-course play

Weekly group lessons & Open Clinics

Beyond summer camp, the New Jersey Academy of Golf runs weekly junior group lessons and open clinics throughout the season. Group lessons are organized by age and ability, so juniors are learning alongside peers at a similar level. Open clinics offer a lower-commitment entry point — a great fit for families testing the waters or for juniors who want extra reps on specific skills like putting, chipping, or bunker play.
